President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to confirm the nomination of Zainab Marwa as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), representing the North-East geopolitical zone.
The request was conveyed in a letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to the President, the nomination is intended to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former board member, Abdulrazak Namdas, who stepped down in March to pursue his governorship ambition in Adamawa State.
Tinubu said the nomination was made in line with the provisions of the NDDC Establishment Act and urged the Senate to consider and confirm Marwa’s appointment. Following the presentation of the letter, Akpabio referred the nomination to the Senate Committee on NDDC for screening and further legislative action.
The committee is expected to submit its report to the Senate within one to two weeks.
