Israel has pledged to deepen collaboration with Nigeria in artificial intelligence, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, made the commitment at the closing ceremony of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Bootcamp 2026 in Abuja.
The four-day programme, organised by Innov8 Hub under the theme “From Ideas to Impact: Building AI-Enabled Ventures for the Future,” brought together young innovators, startup founders, and researchers for training on AI-driven business development.
Freeman said Israel is positioning itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence and is ready to share expertise with Nigeria through existing and future partnerships.
“We are going all in on AI… and we will continue to share our knowledge with Nigeria”, he said, adding that the collaboration would go beyond existing programmes to broader engagement with government and private sector actors.
He stressed that AI should be seen as a tool for job creation rather than job loss, arguing that it can help businesses grow, improve productivity, and open new opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
“The more you engage with AI, the more there will be a Nigerian voice in AI”, he said.
Also speaking, Innov8 Hub Managing Director, Gregory Ibe Jr., said the programme was designed to use AI to enhance productivity and expand employment opportunities rather than replace workers.
He noted that participating teams worked on solutions across education, healthcare, agriculture, sustainability, and community development.
