Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has rejected claims that she was responsible for the alleged arrest of a social media user over a viral AI-generated image depicting her.

The controversy began after an altered image of the actress circulated online, showing her with a darker complexion. The post triggered a wave of reactions, including accusations from some users who speculated about skin bleaching.
Amid the backlash, a Twitter user identified as ScoobyDoo mocked the actress over the image and later alleged that he had been arrested and detained at Area F Police Command in Ikeja due to his comments.
Responding to the claims, Lawal described the allegation as untrue, stating that she would not take legal action against anyone over what she considers a trivial issue.
In a statement shared publicly, the actress dismissed the idea of using law enforcement to silence criticism, emphasising that such actions do not align with her values.
She also expressed frustration over recurring online narratives about her, urging the public to verify information before accepting or spreading it.
The incident has sparked further debate on social media around misinformation, online harassment, and the growing use of AI-generated content in celebrity-related controversies.
