The mother and manager of Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu, has encouraged her son to begin thinking about marriage and starting a family.
Mrs Ogulu made the remark during Burna Boy’s 35th birthday celebration on July 2, where the singer marked the occasion with close friends and family.
A video from the event, shared on Snapchat by one of the singer’s associates, Richie 7, captured the light-hearted exchange as Burna Boy was asked to make a birthday wish.
The Afrobeats star responded by wishing for “good health and prosperity.”
His mother then interjected, urging him to include “a good wife and children” among his birthday wishes, drawing laughter from those present.
The moment has attracted attention online, particularly because Burna Boy has previously spoken publicly about his decision to remain unmarried and childless.
In an earlier interview, the singer explained that his demanding career has made it difficult for him to devote the time and attention he believes a family deserves.
He said he does not want to have children outside marriage or become a father without being fully present in their lives, adding that he intends to wait until he can make that commitment.
Mrs Ogulu has long played a central role in Burna Boy’s career, serving as both his manager and one of his closest advisers as he continues to enjoy international success in the music industry.
