Nigeria’s Super Eagles have remained 26th in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday.
The team, led by Éric Chelle, featured in three matches since the last ranking update, winning both of their Unity Cup fixtures in London against Zimbabwe and Jamaica before drawing 2-2 with Poland in Warsaw.
The three-time African champions, however, suffered a 2-1 defeat to Portugal in an international friendly in Leiria on Wednesday.
Despite the mixed results, Nigeria retained third place in Africa, behind Morocco and Senegal. Algeria and Egypt complete the continent’s top five.
At the global level, the top five positions remain unchanged, with Argentina leading the rankings ahead of Spain, France, England and Portugal.
FIFA is expected to publish its next rankings on July 20.
