Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre believes Manchester City and Liverpool are the only realistic challengers capable of denying the Gunners another Premier League title this season.
Arsenal are set to begin their title defence when the 2026/27 Premier League campaign gets underway this month, following their success under Mikel Arteta last season.
Silvestre praised Arteta’s achievements but warned that retaining top spot will be difficult amid strong competition.
“Mikel Arteta has already shown that he can compete with the very best. Right now, he is the best manager in the Premier League based on last season,” Silvestre told Grosvenor Sport.
“The challenge now is to remain in that position as number one, and that is tough in the Premier League.
“There will be so much competition from Manchester City and Liverpool this season, although at the moment they are the only two teams that are ready to compete for the title, realistically.”
