Umar Sadiq has expressed his delight after Valencia secured a narrow 1-0 win against Athletic Bilbao at the Estadio San Mamés on Sunday.
The Nigeria international, introduced from the bench, scored the only goal of the match 18 minutes from time to hand his side all three points.
The strike marked his third goal in his last four La Liga appearances under Carlos Corberán, highlighting his growing influence at the club.
Speaking after the game, the forward stressed that collective success remains the priority for the team.
“It was the first ball I touched, but the most important thing is the team, that we work together,” the 29-year-old was quoted by the club’s official website.
“Winning here is very important, in a difficult stadium. We all knew that. We are very happy.”
Sadiq, who joined Valencia from Real Sociedad in January, has now recorded four goals and two assists in 14 league matches for the club.
