Northern Ireland head coach Michael O’Neill believes Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain will be an entertaining and open contest.
Speaking on the FIFA Podcast ahead of the showdown at York New Jersey Stadium, O’Neill said the two finalists have earned their place in the title decider.
Spain booked their place in the final with a 2-0 victory over France, while Argentina edged England 2-1 to set up the highly anticipated clash.
“I do think that we are not surprised by the final [Spain vs Argentina] that we have,” O’Neill said.
“I think we will have, hopefully, a great final and an open game as well, I think.”
