Nigerian Afro-house singer Niniola has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, in a series of emotional posts shared on social media.
The Grammy-nominated singer disclosed the loss through posts on her Instagram story early Wednesday, expressing grief over the passing of Ndika, who served as Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on Afro-house and contemporary African music.
In one of the posts, Niniola wrote, “God took him,” before adding in another, “My husband died.”
A third message reflected on the length of their relationship, reading: “God took him. 13 years. 13 f_ing years.”
Each post featured photographs of the couple together.
The singer did not disclose the circumstances surrounding Ndika’s death.
Known for maintaining a private personal life, Niniola has largely kept details of her relationships away from public attention and social media.
