The Refereeing Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has suspended referee Yakubu Adamu from all football-related duties.
The decision was disclosed via the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) official X handle, stating that Adamu was punished for awarding a penalty in the Rangers versus Bendel Insurance fixture, a call deemed inconsistent with the Laws of the Game.
The committee held that his decision influenced the match result and brought the game into disrepute.
Rangers secured a 2-1 victory in the Matchday 37 clash, keeping their position at the summit of the NPFL standings.
The title race will be decided on the final day, with Rangers and Rivers United still in contention. Rangers travel to face Ikorodu City, while Rivers United host Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
