The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has named David Fizdale as the new manager of the men’s national team, D’Tigers. The decision follows a formal recommendation from the federation’s technical committee, bringing a wealth of elite American experience to the program.
The 51-year-old former point guard, who began his professional coaching journey with San Diego in 1998, has spent his entire career within the NBA circuit.
Fizdale most recently served as an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns before departing the franchise last year. Beyond his primary coaching duties, he is tasked with advancing technical growth in Nigeria, specifically focusing on player development structures and the education of local coaches.
