Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has unveiled her next major movie project, The Four, setting the stage for another high-profile cinema release.
Akindele announced the project on Monday through her social media platforms, revealing the title and launching what appears to be the beginning of its promotional campaign.
The announcement came with a colourful video featuring a group of women dressed in matching outfits and participating in a relay race.
Accompanying the video, Akindele wrote, “It’s go time. On your mark. Get set. Go!”
The announcement has generated interest among movie audiences, particularly following Akindele’s recent run of successful cinema releases.
Her previous film, Behind The Scenes, reportedly recorded a major box-office performance, crossing N2.7 billion in Nigerian cinemas.
The Four is scheduled to open in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026.
The release places the new production within the busy end-of-year cinema window, a period that has become a key part of Akindele’s recent movie release strategy.
Details about the film’s storyline and cast have yet to be fully revealed, leaving audiences to anticipate further announcements as the promotional campaign gathers pace.
