Authorities in Turkey are investigating a second school shooting in as many days, after an attack in Kahramanmaraş left one person dead and six others wounded.
The latest incident occurred on Wednesday at Ayser Çalık Secondary School, where gunfire triggered a swift response from police and emergency services. Victims were rushed to nearby hospitals, while authorities continue to investigate the identity and motive of the attacker.
The attack comes just 24 hours after a separate shooting in Şanlıurfa, where a 19-year-old former student opened fire at a high school, injuring at least 16 people before taking his own life.
Officials say such back-to-back incidents are rare in Turkey, raising fresh concerns about safety in schools across the country.
Security forces have since secured affected campuses, with students evacuated to safety. Eyewitnesses from the earlier attack described scenes of panic, as gunshots sent students fleeing classrooms.
Authorities say there is no confirmed link between the two incidents, but the timing has heightened fears among parents, educators, and the wider public.
