APC Receives Tinubu’s 2027 Nomination Forms as Party Leaders Rally Support in Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has received President Bola Tinubu’s nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 presidential election, submitted by Vice President, Kashim Shettima, in Abuja.
The forms were handed to APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the Shettima Hall of the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre on Thursday, with top party leaders, governors, and federal lawmakers in attendance.
Addressing party members, Shettima urged nationwide support for Tinubu’s candidacy, saying, “I urge all Nigerians, irrespective of political, religious, or social differences, to support this nomination and the candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027″.
He described Tinubu as a leader who has shown “courage and resolve” in steering the country through economic and political challenges since 2023, adding that his reforms are aimed at long-term stability.
After receiving the forms, Nentawe Yilwatda said the party remained firmly behind the president, noting, “Our National Executive Committee has already endorsed Mr President and we stand by that decision”. He added that reforms had improved revenue inflows to states and strengthened governance at sub-national levels.
The APC National Secretary confirmed that the party had adopted a direct primary system, stressing that while Tinubu enjoys broad support, “any interested aspirant is free to contest”, The chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum said APC governors were united in backing Tinubu’s re-election, saying they were convinced of his performance and leadership.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances, saying, “Nigerians are ready to vote for him in 2027 because he has done very well”. The ceremony was attended by APC governors, federal lawmakers, ministers, and other party stakeholders.
