Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has recounted a frightening experience after being involved in a motorbike accident while filming a movie in Lagos, just days before her birthday.
The actress shared footage of the incident on her Instagram page on Wednesday, revealing how a routine scene nearly ended in tragedy.
According to the video, Oko was filming a sequence with fellow actor Victory Michael, who was operating the motorcycle. During the shoot, the bike reportedly crashed into a pole at the filming location.
The impact left both actors injured. Victory Michael reportedly struck his chest against the pole and briefly lost consciousness, while Oko sustained a broken leg.
Crew members and colleagues on set immediately rushed to their aid before they were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Reflecting on the incident, Oko described the experience as a stark reminder of how unpredictable life can be. She expressed gratitude that the accident did not result in a more devastating outcome.
“Life is very, very fragile. It could have been a different story but God said no,” she wrote while sharing the video.
The actress also highlighted the risks actors often face in the course of their work, noting that many stunts and physically demanding scenes come with significant dangers.
Her post quickly drew reactions from colleagues across the entertainment industry, many of whom flooded the comment section with messages of support and prayers for her recovery.
Among those who sent well wishes were actors Mofe Duncan, Chinenye Nnebe, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Nosa Rex, Chidi Dike, Toniala Aladese and Onyi Alex, as well as producers Uche Nancy and Toyosi Etim Effiong.
The incident has once again drawn attention to the physical risks associated with film production, particularly during action scenes and stunt sequences.
