A group of prominent Israeli former leaders, security officials and public figures has issued a strong warning to the Israeli government over violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to a media report.
The warning was contained in a leaked letter, which reportedly includes signatures from two former prime ministers, senior military and intelligence chiefs, judges, a Nobel laureate, and leading cultural figures, including novelist David Grossman.
The signatories accused the government of failing to curb what they described as “Jewish terrorism,” alleging that acts of murder, arson, theft and other violent crimes against Palestinians were being carried out with near-total impunity.
“This letter is a wake-up call and a final warning”, the group stated, urging authorities to take immediate steps to “eradicate Jewish terrorism” in the occupied West Bank.
They argued that the violence, allegedly committed by both civilian settlers and some military actors, is not only destabilising the region but also damaging Israel’s international standing and fuelling global antisemitism.
The letter, addressed to the prime minister’s office, defence ministry, national security ministry, military, police and intelligence services, further claimed that such actions reflect a broader government policy that enables extremist behaviour.
It warned that continued violence against Palestinians could provoke retaliation and further escalate insecurity for Israelis.
