Abakaliki FC Chairman Senator Obinna Ogba has urged players taking part in the club’s screening exercise to earn their places through performance ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Ogba said selections would be based strictly on the recommendations of the technical crew, stressing that only players who meet the required standard will make the squad.
“Play well and stop blaming coaches, because there’s no coach that will see a good player and drop him,” Ogba stated in his address to the players.
The Nigeria National League club is currently preparing for the new campaign and is expected to unveil the list of successful trialists before the season begins.
Abakaliki FC have already retained 26 players from last season’s squad.
