Controversial media personality Nedu Wazobia has sparked discussions online after claiming that Abuja serves as the headquarters of what he described as Nigeria’s “Sugar Mummy industry.”
Nedu made the comment during a conversation with content creator Ludahydrate, where they discussed relationship trends and social dynamics in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the media personality, the so-called “Sugar Mummy industry” is one of the biggest sectors in Nigeria, with Abuja being its centre.
“The Sugar Mummy industry is one of the biggest industries in Nigeria. The headquarters, as far as I am concerned, is here in Abuja,” Nedu said.
Ludahydrate, who agreed with Nedu’s observation, attributed the trend to the presence of influential individuals and wealthy personalities in the capital city.
He suggested that some divorced or financially independent women may choose younger partners instead of remarrying after previous relationships.
The content creator also shared his opinion on how financial settlements after marriages involving wealthy individuals could contribute to some women gaining significant independence.
The comments have generated reactions across social media, with users debating the claims and the broader issues surrounding relationships, wealth, and lifestyle choices in Abuja.
Neither Nedu nor Ludahydrate provided evidence or data to support the claim, which was presented as their personal opinion during the discussion.
