Decision ratified at Abuja convention as party vows to uphold discipline and internal democracy…..
The African Democratic Congress has announced the expulsion of 11 members following resolutions reached at its National Convention held on April 14, 2026, in Abuja.
The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who said the action followed the adoption of a disciplinary motion against members found to have violated the party’s constitution and core values.
Those affected by the expulsion include Leke Abejide, Nafiu Bala, Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Don Norman Obinna, Kennedy Odion, Clement Ehigiator, Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke Dick and Elias Adikwu.
The party said the disciplinary motion was presented and subsequently ratified by delegates at the convention, which was held under the leadership of its National Chairman, David Mark.
According to the statement, the affected individuals cease to be members of the party with immediate effect and are free to align with any political platform of their choice. The ADC added that any political party willing to receive them is at liberty to do so.
Reaffirming its stance, the party stressed its commitment to discipline, internal democracy and the rule of law, noting that it will continue to prioritise accountability as it positions itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
