Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has apologised on behalf of the Kenya Kwanza administration to the Mt Kenya region over the 2024 impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking during the commissioning of a water project in Mwea, Waiguru, however, distanced herself from the impeachment process, saying governors were not involved in the proceedings, which were handled by Members of Parliament.
The Kirinyaga governor urged Mt Kenya residents to set aside political differences and rally behind President William Ruto to accelerate development projects in the region.
