Ex-Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi has thrown his weight behind the “Flying Antelopes” to secure the 2025-26 league championship. The former attacker maintains that if the standard of refereeing remains impartial during the final stretch of the season, the Enugu-based giants are well-positioned to claim their ninth domestic title. Currently, Rangers occupy the summit of the NPFL standings with 62 points, holding a narrow one-point advantage over their closest rivals, Rivers United, as the campaign enters its final two matchdays.
The title race reaches its climax with Rangers scheduled to face Bendel Insurance and Ikorodu City. Meanwhile, second-placed Rivers United will compete against Wikki Tourists and Katsina United. Emphasizing the importance of a level playing field in these decisive fixtures, Uzoenyi shared his perspective with Completesports:
“Let both teams play their games and let the officiating be seen to be free and fair. Whether they play at home or not, or whoever they face, makes no difference. What matters is fair officiating and with that, Rangers will win.”
With only 180 minutes of football remaining, the pressure is on the league leaders to maintain their composure and fend off the challenge from the Port Harcourt side to solidify their historical dominance in Nigerian football.
