Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has paid a heartfelt tribute to her son, Jamil Balogun, as he celebrated his 11th birthday.
The Afrobeats star shared photos from Jamil’s birthday celebration with friends on Thursday, alongside a message reflecting on motherhood and the lessons it has taught her about love and faith.
According to Tiwa, raising her son has deepened her understanding of God’s unconditional love, describing the experience as one of the greatest blessings of her life.“Guys, being Mama Jamjam has taught me more about God’s love than I ever imagined. The way I worry about him, celebrate him, protect him, forgive him, and believe in him. The way I’d give anything (even my own life) for him. It made me stop and think: this sounds so familiar,” she wrote.
The singer said the love she has for Jamil has helped her appreciate the depth of God’s love for humanity.“Because if I can love my son this deeply as an imperfect human being, how much more does our perfect Heavenly Father love us?
Maybe that’s why God calls us His children. Every hug, every prayer, every sacrifice, every moment of unconditional love I feel for Jamil is just a tiny reflection of the love God has always had for us,” she added.
Celebrating her son’s milestone, Tiwa described Jamil as her greatest blessing, an answered prayer, and her best friend.“Happy 11th birthday to my greatest blessing, my answered prayer, and my best friend. Watching you grow is one of the greatest privileges of my life.
“I love you more than words will ever be able to say. And even that love is only a glimpse of how much God loves you, Jamjam,” she wrote.
Jamil, whom Tiwa shares with her former husband, Tunji “TeeBillz” Balogun, turned 11 on July 22, with the celebration drawing warm wishes from fans and fellow entertainers on social media.
