The General Manager (Transmission), Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Kano Region, Engr. M. K. Bello, has reaffirmed the region’s commitment to sustaining a strong working relationship with the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) to support ongoing electricity market reforms and improve grid reliability.
According to TCN’s General Manager on Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah in a Statement, Bello gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, to the TCN Kano Regional Office.
Speaking during the visit, the TCN regional manager expressed appreciation to the NISO managing director for the cordial relationship between the two organisations, describing NISO as a dependable partner that has consistently provided operational support whenever required.
He commended the agency’s responsiveness and commitment to collaboration, stressing that the partnership had contributed significantly to the effective operation of the nation’s power system.
Bello assured the NISO management of TCN Kano Region’s continued support in advancing the objectives of Nigeria’s electricity market reforms through sustained operational cooperation.
In his remarks, the NISO managing director thanked the TCN Kano management team for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO, describing the gesture as a significant milestone in the relationship between the two organisations.
He said the handover reflected the mutual trust and cooperation that exist between TCN and NISO and reaffirmed the system operator’s commitment to maintaining close collaboration with the transmission company.
According to him, effective coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure is essential for ensuring the security, stability and reliability of the national electricity grid.
He added that sustained cooperation between the two organisations would enhance power system operations and improve electricity service delivery across the country.
