Veteran Nollywood stars Sola Sobowale and Kanayo O. Kanayo have been honoured with the Industry Merit Award at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
The recognition was announced during the award ceremony held on May 9, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites, celebrating the actors’ enduring contributions to Nollywood and African entertainment.
While receiving her award, Sobowale expressed gratitude to God, her family, colleagues, and fans for supporting her journey in the movie industry.
The actress said the honour reassured her that her work continues to resonate with audiences, adding that she still has more to offer in her career.
Speaking partly in Yoruba, Sobowale thanked her supporters for keeping her relevant over the years and promised audiences more performances in the future.
