The management of Osun State College of Technology has commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund for its Skills Development Intervention, describing the initiative as transformative and impactful in enhancing academic delivery, staff capacity, and administrative operations within the institution.
The commendation was contained in an official letter of appreciation addressed to TETFund and signed by the Rector of the College, S. A. Adewumi.
According to the institution, the intervention has equipped both staff and students with industry-relevant skills, upgraded training facilities, and strengthened the college’s capacity to respond effectively to contemporary educational demands.
The College Management expressed gratitude to TETFund for its sustained support to tertiary institutions across the country and pledged to continue ensuring prudent utilization of intervention funds to maximize benefits for students and staff.
In the letter, the rector disclosed that the project had been successfully completed and all approved payments received, noting that the intervention had significantly improved the institution’s infrastructure and operational capacity.
He stated that the programme provided the college with an opportunity to acquire critical facilities and equipment that had previously been beyond its financial reach.
Among the major gains highlighted were the installation of Starlink internet services and a mini-solar grid, which the college said had effectively addressed longstanding challenges related to electricity supply and internet connectivity.
According to the institution, the new facilities have enabled it to achieve stable power supply and reliable internet access, thereby improving academic activities, administrative efficiency, and overall learning outcomes.
The college noted that the availability of modern learning tools and improved infrastructure has contributed to a more vibrant academic environment on campus and within the surrounding community.
Management further observed that the intervention has repositioned the institution to meet the demands of 21st-century education by enhancing the capacity of lecturers to deliver practical, industry-oriented training while ensuring that graduates possess skills that improve their employability.
TETFund’s Skills Development Intervention forms part of the Fund’s broader mandate to rehabilitate, restore, and strengthen tertiary education in Nigeria through strategic funding of infrastructure, research, academic development, and capacity-building projects.
The Fund has continued to receive commendation from beneficiary institutions nationwide for interventions aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
