A delegation of the movement met behind closed doors with the national leader of the NDC, Henry Seriake Dickson, and other senior party officials in a bid to resolve disagreements involving the group and legacy party structures in Kano State.
The meeting, which lasted several hours, focused on promoting unity ahead of future political activities and ensuring that all stakeholders remained fully integrated within the party’s framework.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the NDC said Dickson and the party leadership were actively mediating the reconciliation process to guarantee broader participation and inclusiveness among members.
The party stressed that it would not impose candidates in Kano State or any other part of the country, reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and transparent electoral processes.
According to the statement, the discussions were productive and yielded progress towards resolving outstanding issues among party stakeholders.
The NDC also cautioned members and the public against relying on unofficial lists purportedly containing results of party primary elections.
It maintained that no official results had been released for any state and urged party faithful to disregard documents circulating on social media and other platforms claiming to contain primary election outcomes.
The latest reconciliation effort is seen as part of a broader strategy by the NDC leadership to consolidate opposition forces ahead of the 2027 general election while strengthening party cohesion across key states, including Kano, one of Nigeria’s most politically significant battlegrounds
