Singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has made new allegations against his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, claiming a disagreement over a property owned by the former P-Square group escalated into threats and an attempted physical confrontation.
The claims were made in the fifth episode of Mr P’s ongoing video series, in which he recounts his version of events surrounding the collapse of the award-winning music duo and the family’s business relationship.
According to the singer, the incident dates back to 2015, after members of the group had agreed to divide jointly owned properties, including a duplex in the United States.
Mr P alleged that the dispute began when he learnt that his share of the US property had been listed for sale without his knowledge or approval.
Speaking in the video, he said he confronted Jude during a music event, but the discussion quickly became heated.
“This incident happened early 2015. It started making sense to me after EFCC told me everything. Why the sudden attack?” he said.
He further alleged that Jude threatened him during the confrontation.
“He told me to get out of his front before he slapped me. He wanted to beat me up before other artistes stepped in,” Mr P claimed.
The singer also rejected claims that Jude financially backed the formation of P-Square, insisting that it was their elder brother, Henry Okoye, who supported the group’s early career.
Mr P further alleged that he later discovered documents that would have transferred his ownership interest in the US property to Ifeoma Okoye, Jude’s wife. According to him, he declined to sign the documents after noticing the proposed change in ownership.
He also claimed that Jude asserted majority control over the group’s assets and suggested he could force him out of the business.
The latest allegations add to a growing list of claims Mr P has made in recent weeks regarding the management of P-Square and the circumstances that led to the group’s breakup.
As of the time of filing this report, Jude Okoye has not publicly responded to these latest allegations. The claims remain Mr P’s account of the dispute and have not been independently verified.
