Former Argentina striker Maxi Lopez has warned YouTuber and Cristiano Ronaldo supporter iShowSpeed against attending Argentina’s 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final against England on Wednesday in Atlanta.
iShowSpeed was present at Argentina’s quarter-final victory over Switzerland, hoping to “jinx” Lionel Scaloni’s side after Portugal, led by Ronaldo, were eliminated by Spain in the Round of 16. Argentina eventually secured a 3-1 extra-time win after Alexis Mac Allister’s early opener was cancelled out by Dan Ndoye before goals from Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez sealed victory despite Switzerland being reduced to 10 men.
“Speed, vigilante, don’t show up again,” Lopez told the popular content creator, according to PaseClave. “You tried to jinx us last night. If you put on the Argentina jersey again, we’re gonna beat your ass, I’m telling you.”
The quarter-final was Argentina’s second knockout match to go into extra time after their 3-2 Round of 32 win over Cabo Verde. The defending champions also needed a late comeback to avoid extra time in the Round of 16, scoring three goals in the closing 11 minutes to defeat Egypt 3-2, with Enzo Fernandez netting the winner in stoppage time.
