Lateef Adedimeji has expressed appreciation after his film, Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, secured two awards at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards held in Lagos.
The historical epic won the awards for Best Makeup and Best Indigenous Language Film West Africa during the ceremony on Saturday.
Reacting in a post shared on X, Adedimeji described the recognition as rewarding and said the sequel had successfully maintained the achievements recorded by its predecessor, Lisabi: The Uprising, at the 2025 edition of the awards.
The actor said the latest victory reflected the hard work, sacrifices, and commitment invested in the production.
He also thanked the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, fans who voted, and members of the production team for their support.
Adedimeji gave special recognition to filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan, as well as the cast and crew who contributed to the project’s success.
The filmmaker further acknowledged his wife and co-executive producer, Mo Bimpe Oyebade, describing her as a key partner in bringing the project to life.
He also congratulated makeup artist Hakeem Effect for his contribution to the film’s win in the makeup category.
Lisabi: A Legend Is Born is centered on Yoruba history and resistance, continuing the franchise’s focus on indigenous storytelling.
The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards featured 32 categories recognising achievements across African film, television, and digital content.
