Chelsea’s new signing Maxence Lacroix is set to take over the club’s No. 23 shirt following the completion of his move to Stamford Bridge.
The jersey, previously worn by Trevoh Chalobah, has become available as the defender closes in on a transfer to Serie A side Como.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Lacroix will inherit the number once Chalobah completes his move to the Italian club.
“Maxence Lacroix will wear the No. 23 shirt at Chelsea following the completion of his move.
“The number becomes available as Trevoh Chalobah closes in on a transfer to Como.
“Chalobah is now on the verge of completing his move to the Serie A side, paving the way for Lacroix to inherit the shirt.”
Lacroix arrives at Chelsea after establishing himself as a dependable centre-back during his spell at Crystal Palace, adding depth to the club’s defensive options.
Meanwhile, Chalobah is expected to begin a new chapter in Italy as his proposed switch to Como moves closer to completion.
