Award-winning Nollywood actress Kehinde Bankole has called on the Federal Government and key security institutions to urgently intensify efforts to curb the growing wave of kidnappings across the country.
In a strongly worded post shared on Wednesday, the actress directed her appeal to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Presidency, and intelligence agencies, urging them to act decisively as insecurity continues to escalate.
She said Nigerians are increasingly exhausted by repeated condolences from authorities while lives are being lost in violent attacks and abductions.
“It is no longer about why it is happening; it is now simply about lives! Lives are being lost! This should not be our new normal, children running for their lives in 2026! Oh God,” she wrote.
Bankole also addressed narratives suggesting that insecurity may be politically motivated or linked to efforts to discredit the government. She argued that such claims should push security agencies to respond more aggressively rather than hesitate.
She urged authorities to intensify intelligence operations and ensure all relevant agencies, including the DSS, National Intelligence Agency, and Ministry of Defence, are fully mobilised to tackle the crisis.
“Even if the kidnappings are a smear campaign on the government, it should be all the more reason for the Office of the National Security Advisor, along with the Presidency, to tackle insecurity with full wrath and force,” she stated.
She added that the focus should be on results, not explanations, stressing that Nigerians want immediate and effective solutions.
“Our cry is for something decisive to be done and to be done fast… The people need only results, no more condolence speeches,” she wrote.
Her comments follow growing public concern over recent abductions, including the kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, which also reportedly led to the killing of a teacher while in captivity.
Bankole’s statement adds to a rising wave of celebrity voices calling for stronger government action against insecurity and banditry across Nigeria.
