Former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has indicated he is prepared to assume the role of Germany national team manager following Julian Nagelsmann’s departure after a disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign.
Nagelsmann has since stepped down, with the German Football Association now seeking a successor, and Klopp emerging as the leading candidate for the position.
While speaking in New York in his capacity as a Magenta TV pundit, Klopp said: “Julian has stepped down and the [federation] is working on the succession and has approached me in the course of those considerations.
“About two years ago I stopped at Liverpool and said that I lacked the energy for another job or for another year with Liverpool.
“Since then I’m more than recharged, I’m ready.”
