The son of senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya has been seriously injured in an Israeli air strike in Gaza City, according to Hamas officials.
The attack, which took place in the Daraj neighbourhood on Wednesday, killed one person and wounded at least nine others, medics said.
Azzam al-Hayya, son of Hamas’s political bureau chief and a key negotiator in indirect talks with Israel, was among those injured.
Khalil al-Hayya confirmed his son’s condition in remarks saying he was “seriously wounded” in the strike.
The Hamas leader also identified the person killed in the attack as Hamza al-Sharbasi.
“Neither the killing of our sons nor the martyrdom of our leaders will intimidate us,” al-Hayya said.
Israeli authorities did not immediately comment on the strike.
The attack came amid renewed Israeli raids across Gaza. In another strike in the Zeitoun area of northern Gaza City, three members of the same family were killed while reportedly trying to set up a tent near a mosque, according to local medics.
A separate raid near al-Mawasi in southern Gaza killed Naseem al-Kalazani, identified by Palestinian officials as the head of the anti-narcotics force in Khan Younis. At least 17 others were wounded.
Hamas condemned the attacks, describing them as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire agreement reached last October.
The group said the strikes represented “a continuation of the ongoing war” against Palestinians in Gaza.
According to Gaza’s health ministry, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire agreement was announced last year.
The latest violence comes as Israel’s security cabinet reportedly considers expanding military operations after Hamas rejected demands for full disarmament.
Hamas says discussions about weapons can only happen within a broader agreement that includes the establishment of a Palestinian state and increased humanitarian access to Gaza.
