As the countdown begins for the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the launch of its online engagement portal for eligible Nigerians interested in serving as ad-hoc staff during the election.
The INECPRES portal will officially open on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. and will remain accessible until midnight on Monday, May 18, 2026. Interested individuals can find the online application on the commission’s website, [www.inecnigeria.org](http://www.inecnigeria.org), which supports both mobile and web platforms.
For those utilizing desktop computers, the application can be accessed directly at pres.inecnigeria.org. Android users can also apply via presmobile.inecnigeria.org or through the App Store.
INEC has outlined that the recruitment covers essential election roles, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, and III), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECHs).
Eligibility criteria for applicants include serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), former corps members who completed their service within the last four years, federal and state civil servants, staff of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), federal tertiary institution students, and selected INEC personnel, based on the specific role for which they are applying.
INEC emphasizes that applicants must not be affiliated with any political party, must not have publicly supported any candidate or political party, and must reside in the state where they wish to be deployed, except for RATECHs who are INEC staff.
For any inquiries or support, applicants can reach the INEC helpdesk at 070-CALL-INEC or email inecpres@inec.gov.ng. Additional contact persons for the Ekiti governorship election have also been designated to assist applicants.
This initiative demonstrates INEC’s proactive approach to ensuring a smooth and credible electoral process in Ekiti State as the governorship election approaches.
