Promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that the long-anticipated heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is set to take place in the United Kingdom, rejecting speculation about a possible move to the United States.
Hearn, who helped negotiate the agreement alongside Frank Warren, said the signed deal specifically requires the fight to be staged on British soil later this year.
His comments follow reports that several American venues, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and locations in Las Vegas, had expressed interest in hosting the contest with lucrative offers.
However, Hearn stressed that the contract does not permit a venue change unless all parties involved approve it.
He added that neither Saudi financiers nor external investors can independently decide the location, as promotional stakeholders retain equal authority under the agreement.
Before the expected winter blockbuster, both fighters are likely to have separate outings this summer, with Fury reportedly preparing for a fight in Dublin as part of his build-up.
The rivalry between Joshua and Fury has spanned more than a decade, yet the two British stars have never faced each other in the ring.
