Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly cautioned his squad against emulating Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
According to The Athletic, the incident followed City’s 3–0 derby win over United in September.
Rather than emphasizing his own team’s performance, Guardiola pointed to Fernandes, who was seen angrily confronting teammates over their involvement in Phil Foden’s opening goal while City celebrated.
Guardiola used prepared video clips to reinforce the message that, although Fernandes is a quality player, such displays of frustration toward teammates would not be tolerated at City.
The 55-year-old later left the Etihad after a season in which Fernandes set a new assists record.
