Nigerian comedian and actor Funnybone has advised women to be mindful of the kind of content they consume online, warning that negative relationship narratives on social media can distort their perception of men and relationships.
In a post shared on Instagram, the comedian encouraged women to take control of their digital environment by adjusting their algorithms and limiting exposure to content that promotes fear, resentment, and emotional distress.
According to him, personal experiences shared online should not automatically be used as a standard for judging people they have not met.
He noted that constant engagement with negative stories can influence mindset and create unnecessary anxiety around love, commitment, and marriage.
Funnybone further advised women to focus on content that encourages personal development, emotional healing, and maturity, saying such material can positively shape their outlook on relationships.
“Dear young lady, curate your algorithm. Stop feeding your mind with content that constantly triggers pain, fear, and resentment. Don’t let other people’s experiences shape how you view a man who hasn’t even entered your life yet,” he wrote.
He added that individuals can still have positive and fulfilling relationship experiences despite the negativity often circulated online.
“Consume content that inspires growth, healing, and emotional maturity. Your story can be different, and your experience can be beautiful,” he stated.
The comedian concluded by encouraging optimism, noting that everyone’s personal journey in relationships can turn out differently from what is commonly portrayed online.
