Veteran Nigerian Fuji musician Remi Aluko has revealed that he has lost his sight after years of battling glaucoma.
The singer made the disclosure during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he spoke openly about his health challenges and how he has been managing life with the condition.
According to him, he has been living with glaucoma for several years and has undergone eye surgery in the past in an attempt to improve his vision. However, he noted that his condition has worsened over time.
Remi Aluko explained that he is currently unable to see and described his situation as being similar to that of a blind person, despite continuing to manage his daily life independently.
“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down,” he said.
He added that he has chosen not to allow his health condition to affect his mental wellbeing, stressing that he focuses on self-care and avoids depression by maintaining a positive mindset.
The revelation has drawn reactions from fans and colleagues, with many expressing sympathy and support for the veteran entertainer.
