Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz has revealed his ambition to compete for the 2026 Ballon d’Or award.
The Spain international said being considered among the contenders for football’s most prestigious individual prize would be a great honour.
Ruiz has enjoyed a remarkable campaign, lifting both the World Cup with Spain and the Champions League with PSG, achievements that have placed him among the players being discussed for the award.
The 30-year-old admitted he would welcome the opportunity to challenge for the Ballon d’Or following his successful season.
“Who wouldn’t want to win a Ballon d’Or? I’m happy with the season I have had, winning the Champions League and the World Cup,” Ruiz told reporters as per Marca.
“If I’m in the running, it will be an honour.”
