Chelsea icon John Terry has expressed confidence in the club’s latest acquisition, Morgan Rogers, following his move from Aston Villa.
The Blues completed the signing of the 23-year-old forward in a £117 million deal on a long-term contract, with Terry backing him to make a positive impact under Xabi Alonso.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the former Chelsea captain said Rogers’ transfer fee reflects the current market but believes the player has the ability to improve the squad.
“The numbers are inflated; that is not the players’ issue for me,” Terry said on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
“To be honest, if you were him, you’d have probably gone to Arsenal, so the numbers must have been pretty big. But I’m excited to have him. I think he’s a good player.
“I think he is going to give us better than what we have got at the moment. I think he is a good addition to the squad, and I’m actually excited to see him.”
