Teenage Nigerian sprinter Miracle Ezechukwu is aiming to secure gold medals in the women’s 100m and 4x100m relay at the 24th African Athletics Championships in Accra, while also hoping to achieve a new personal best.
The young athlete, among the youngest competitors representing Nigeria in Ghana, said she is determined to make a strong impact and support Team Nigeria’s medal pursuit.
“My main objective in Ghana is to clinch the 100m title and the 4×100m,” Ezechukwu told FIRST ZEALMEDIACAST.
“Nigeria can be assured of my very best and my commitment to the Team. I would love to set a new personal best in Ghana, but anything that comes, I will take it. The spirit in the team is high, and I think we are ready to go,” she said.
Ezechukwu, who competed for Nigeria in the women’s 4x100m relay at the World Relays in Botswana, said the event provided valuable experience ahead of the continental championships.
She noted that challenges faced during the relay race, including an early mistake that disrupted the team’s momentum, helped her improve her focus, discipline and composure.
