Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has revealed plans to pursue a master’s degree in political science at a university in the United Kingdom next year.
The Afrobeats star disclosed this during a recent livestream, where he spoke about his academic ambitions alongside his music career.
Davido clarified that the postgraduate programme would not take place at Adeleke University, despite speculation from some fans.
According to the singer, the course will follow the standard one-year format commonly offered by universities in the UK.
“I want to do my Master’s next year in the UK, a one-year course in political science. I already have my B.Sc,” he said during the livestream.
When asked whether he intended to study at Adeleke University, Davido responded in the negative.
The announcement has generated positive reactions online, with many fans praising the move as a sign of personal development beyond entertainment.
Davido, who has maintained a strong influence in African music over the past decade, has also recently shown increasing interest in political and civic discussions, particularly in relation to governance and youth participation in Nigeria.
