Afrobeats singer Davido has described his wedding ring as the most significant item he carries whenever he travels, saying it represents the commitment he has made to his wife.
The award-winning musician made the revelation during an interview with Mystery Fashionist, where he discussed his personal style, shopping habits, and the fashion accessories he considers indispensable.
Davido said his interest in fashion began at an early age, explaining that he has always enjoyed dressing well and shopping. However, his busy schedule now leaves little time for personal shopping, prompting him to rely on a stylist.
Despite that, the singer said he rarely visits a store without buying something for his wife.
According to him, “I like to look good since I was young. I like to go shopping. I don’t have the time; now I have my stylist. I bought my wife some heels the other day. Every time I enter a shop, trust me, I’m leaving with something for my wife; she’s the reason I do all this.”
Davido also highlighted the personal value of his wedding ring, describing it as more than a piece of jewellery.
He said the ring serves as a reminder of the vows he has made and publicly signifies that he is married.
“My wedding ring is my most precious, most important piece of jewellery because I have a vow to follow. A ring is a symbol to show I have a partner; stay away, I’m taken,” he said.
The singer went on to list the five items he considers essential whenever he travels. They include his American passport, Bottega headphones, an 18k Rolex wristwatch, his wedding ring, and a Cuban link chain weighing more than one kilogram, which he said is valued at nearly one million dollars.
Reflecting on his travel essentials, Davido said these items are part of what he consistently carries with him wherever his work takes him.
