Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed plans to pursue a career in acting as he broadens his footprint in the entertainment industry.
The Afrobeats star disclosed in an interview with Vibe Q that he is already involved in filmmaking, having executive-produced two movies. He also announced that a documentary chronicling part of his journey is nearing release.
According to the Unavailable singer, acting is the next creative challenge he hopes to embrace.
“I want to get into movies. I want to start acting soon. I have already invested in two movies as an executive producer. I also have a documentary coming. It is very, very big. And yeah, I do want to act at some point in the future,” Davido said.
Beyond music, the award-winning artiste said he believes creatives must continue evolving as industries change. He compared the constant transformation of music to technological advancements, stressing the importance of embracing new ways to tell stories.
“God has blessed me with an amazing career and fans. I wouldn’t ask for another type of career. Music is what I love, and music evolves just like technology.
“There’s always a new sound, a new creative idea and a new way to tell your story,” he added.
Davido’s latest comments signal a growing interest in filmmaking, adding to his achievements in music. While he has yet to announce details of the films or documentary, the singer’s planned move into acting marks another chapter in his expanding career within the entertainment industry.
