Afrobeats superstar Davido has confirmed plans for a joint album with American R&B singer Chris Brown, set for release next year.
The Nigerian artist made the announcement during an appearance on the Swift Conversations podcast, where he discussed his upcoming projects and international collaborations.
Davido revealed that his current creative direction is strongly rooted in African sounds, noting that he is working closely with some of his longtime Nigerian producers.
“The music I am making now is very African… I am working with a lot of my original producers from back home,” he said.
However, he added that global collaborations remain an important part of his career as he continues to expand his international reach.
He also confirmed long-running speculation about a joint project with Chris Brown.
“Me and Chris Brown got an album coming next year,” Davido stated.
The pair have maintained a close musical relationship over the years, first collaborating on the 2019 hit “Blow My Mind.” Since then, they have teased several unreleased joint records, sparking anticipation among fans.
Davido noted that while his current focus is on African-inspired production, he continues to work with international artists as part of his evolving sound.
The upcoming project is expected to further strengthen the growing bridge between Afrobeats and global R&B.
