Popular Nigerian socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has explained why he shifted his political allegiance from former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to President Bola Tinubu.
The celebrity barman was among high-profile entertainers who openly supported Obi during the 2023 presidential election.
However, ahead of the 2027 general election, Cubana Chief Priest has now thrown his weight behind Tinubu and his administration.
He is currently involved with the City Boys Movement, a grassroots political group initiated by Seyi Tinubu to mobilise support ahead of the next election cycle.
Speaking during an interview with online streamer Peller, the nightlife entrepreneur said his decision was based on his belief that Tinubu remains the strongest contender for the presidency.
According to him, he no longer wanted to align himself with a political movement he believed could lose again.
“I left Obi because I don’t want to lose again because they say first fool no be fool, na the second fool be proper fool. Tinubu will still win,” he said.
The comments add to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 elections, as supporters and political groups begin early mobilisation across the country.
