Actor Charles Okocha has rejected claims by singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, that he bit him during their recent celebrity boxing rematch, describing the allegation as false.
Portable had earlier alleged that Okocha bit him on the back and locked his neck during the contest, sparking fresh reactions online after their highly publicised showdown.
Responding to the accusation during an appearance on TVC Entertainment, Okocha insisted the claim was impossible, pointing out that he wore a mouth guard throughout the fight.
“Portable has been going around telling people I bit him on the back. I was wearing a mouth guard; how is that even possible? He was just lying,” he said.
The actor also dismissed the allegation in strong terms, urging the singer to accept the outcome of the contest rather than make what he described as unfounded accusations.
“I would rather chew grass than bite him. He should just accept defeat,” Okocha added.
The celebrity rematch took place on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, drawing widespread attention from fans and social media users.
Okocha was declared the winner after Portable was disqualified for violating the contest’s wrestling rules by throwing punches before later walking out of the ring.
The bout has continued to generate conversations online, with both entertainers exchanging claims in the aftermath of the event.
