Nigerian comedian and content creator Brain Jotter has spoken out after he was allegedly harassed by a group of touts while driving on a Lagos road.
The skit maker brought attention to the incident through a post on his Instagram page, where he shared a video showing several men confronting him around his vehicle.
According to the video, the men appeared to demand money from Brain Jotter before allowing him to continue his journey.
One of the men could be heard asserting his authority during the confrontation, saying, “I be lion.”
Reacting to the encounter, Brain Jotter used sarcasm to express his frustration over the incident.
He described the situation as an example of what he sees as a failure to control touting and street-level intimidation in Lagos.
The comedian wrote: “Lion no dey use eyes see goat. Nigerian zoo keepers are the worst. We lack good wild-life and they let a lion escape from their zoo. This is sad.”
The video has since drawn attention to the recurring concerns surrounding roadside touting and demands for unofficial payments from motorists in parts of Lagos.
Brain Jotter, whose real name is Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, is one of Nigeria’s prominent comedians and content creators. He rose to widespread popularity through comedy skits and social media content.
The incident comes amid longstanding public complaints about harassment, intimidation and illegal collections by individuals operating as touts around transport corridors in Lagos.
Brain Jotter has not indicated whether he intends to pursue a formal complaint over the encounter.
