Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed that he once turned down an opportunity to sign with Mavin Records, despite what he described as a lucrative offer reportedly worth $1 million.
The rapper shared the claim in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, where he explained his reasoning behind declining the deal.
According to him, the decision was influenced by his personal preference for a low-profile digital presence, saying he is not comfortable with the level of constant online engagement often expected from artists signed to major record labels.
Blaqbonez stated that he prefers minimal interaction on social media and would rather maintain a more private approach to public engagement, suggesting that such expectations did not align with his personal style or brand identity.
He further described himself as someone who values mystery and limited online activity, noting that his creative identity does not depend on frequent posting or fan interaction.
The rapper’s remarks have since sparked discussions online about the role of social media visibility in modern music marketing, where artists are often required to maintain active engagement with audiences to drive visibility and commercial success.
