Big Brother Naija Season 11 has rolled out its first major gameplay twist, introducing “The Gambit,” a new feature that guarantees two housemates a place in the grand finale but prevents them from competing for the show’s ₦160 million grand prize.
The announcement was made during Monday’s live session with the housemates and later confirmed on the reality show’s official social media platforms.
Under the twist, viewers will vote to select one male and one female housemate to become The Gambits. The two contestants with the highest votes will automatically remain in the competition until the final week of the season.
However, the advantage comes with a significant sacrifice. Although the selected housemates will avoid eviction and continue participating in every aspect of the competition, they will no longer be eligible to win the season’s top prize.
Explaining the new format, Biggie described The Gambit as a strategic opportunity that offers longevity in the game while taking away the ultimate reward.
According to him, the chosen housemates will remain full participants in all house activities, challenges and reward opportunities, with only their eligibility for the grand prize affected.
Organisers also announced that there will be no eviction this week, as the voting process focuses entirely on selecting the two Gambits.
The current Head of House, Chimsom Chuka, is exempt from the vote, while every other contestant remains eligible for selection.
The twist comes shortly after the launch of BBNaija Season 11 and adds a new strategic dimension to the competition. Since the premiere, fans have been closely following the housemates, with discussions centering on emerging alliances, personalities and gameplay.
With The Gambit now in play, viewers and contestants alike face a new dilemma: whether a guaranteed place in the finale is worth sacrificing the opportunity to win the ₦160 million grand prize.
